The school executive will build systems and relationships that utilize the staff’s diversity, encourage constructive ideological conflict in order to leverage staff expertise, power and influence to realize the school’s vision for success. The executive will also creatively employ an awareness of staff members’ professional needs, issues, and interests to build social cohesion and to facilitate distributed governance and shared decision-making.

Assistant Principal Meetings
I attended the three required Assistant Meetings held by the district. This was a great opportunity to develop relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with other area administrators.

BAC Meetings
During my Principal Residency, I have attended the Board Advisory Council meetings for the Eastern Area. Through these experiences, I hear from district personnel regarding issues such as zoning, spending, and community perceptions. Our school board representative is the host and we also discuss common issues, trends and solutions for unique problems faced in the Eastern area. These meetings have enabled me to learn from various stakeholders and given me an insight into the micro-political side of the principalship.

Perception & Needs Survey
During my Principal Residency, I utilized surveys as a way to systematically collect teacher's thoughts around my problem of practice. I used their perceptions, needs, thoughts, and obstacles to make improvements to my implementation plan. This survey was only administered to the third-grade team.
